Species in the South pasture on June 5 included: Western Meadowlark, Horned Lark, Great-tailed Grackle, Northern Mockingbird (many), Bullock's Oriole, Say's Phoebe, Cliff Swallow, Barn Swallow, Lark Sparrow, Mallard (on 9 eggs), Common Nighthawk, Killdeer, American Kestrel (family), Ferruginous Hawk - dark morph - with 3 chicks, Swainson's Hawk, Great Blue Heron, Red-winged Blackbird, Lark Bunting, Song Sparrow, Western Kingbird, Loggerhead Shrike, Red-headed Woodpecker, Mourning Dove, Rock Pigeon, Chihuahuan Raven, Barn Owl, and Burrowing Owl
