Ash-throated Flycatcher
September 9 and 10

Of note, along with the Ash-throated Flycatcher, other vistors included a lingering Western Kingbird, and a Gray Catbird. On the 9th a Yellow-breasted Chat and 3 Wilson’s Warblers visited. On the 10th there were 2 Wilson’s and 1 Yellow Warbler along with a couple of Chipping, 1 Clay-colored, and 1 Brewer’s Sparrow and about half a dozen Lark Sparrows. Still present were a couple of young Great-tailed Grackles. 3 Ferruginous Hawks were soaring above the freshly drilled wheat. The Barn Swallows continue to congregate – perhaps waiting on the last nest to fledge so they can go with them. This last nest is the third go around this summer for that set of birds…whew…would you like to raise that many in one summer?
